Mental health first aid

If there is only one person in an academy who someone can turn to for support, it becomes a big deal to seek them out. If an appointment must be made, that can accentuate the stigma.

This is why we have trained over 1,400 youth and adult mental health first aiders across our trust, which is over half our workforce. Mental health first aiders are trained to spot the early signs and symptoms of a mental health issue and to support those individuals.

We are proud to have an in-house team of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructors who train E-ACT employees to be Mental Health First Aiders. It is our goal to train every member of E-ACT staff to recognise the early warning signs of a mental health issue in children and among adults.
