Remote Learning Parent Champion – An Introduction

20 January 2021

Dear fellow Parents and Caregivers

I am very pleased to welcome you to our Remote Learning Parent’s Hub. The aim of this web page is to offer advice and guidance to families whilst we support our children with learning at home.

Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am ‘Mum’ to two lovely sons. My eldest is currently in year eight at Shenley Academy and my youngest is at primary school.

I work part time as a SEN and Digital Learning administrator in a primary school. I am in the unique and fortunate position of having a technical knowledge to go with a personal understanding of the realities of managing learning at home.

My husband and I have experienced first-hand, the challenges and compromises that remote learning have presented to both our children and us as a family.

I am keen to support the hardworking staff in their tireless commitment to provide the best education for our children. To enable them to recognise and reach their personal aspirations and goals.

Also, I hope to assist families by offering technical support in an ‘easy to follow’ and visual way. There will also be practical tips and ideas from different sources for families to make the most of the Remote Learning experience.

I strongly believe that in order for distance learning to be successful everyone involved needs support. I look forward to liaising with you from a place of empathy for parents and caregivers, students, and teachers!

Best Wishes

Claire Evans (REMOTE LEARNING PARENT CHAMPION)
